What kind of Christmas dinner will you enjoy? Here are some menu ideas ...
Christmas bird - goose, duck, capon chicken, turkey, touch of gravy
Accompanying veg - roast potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, carrots, with apple sauce or cranberry sauce
Christmas pudding dowsed in port or brandy topped with custard or cornflower sauce ...
Yea? Nay? Or what say you ... ?
What kind of Christmas dinner will you enjoy?
Yay for sure on the goose and duck - I had a grandmother that used to do both of those on Christmas Day! And the potatoes, stuffing and sauces sound divine - though I have to say I have never had Christmas Pudding!
Actually, today, I am giving a trial run to a new herb-encrusted Leg of Lamb recipe to see how it is - hoping to do it for Christmas, myself! Oh, and I'm thinking of just roasted potatoes and fennel along side, plus maybe with some asparagus. Still debating on dessert! Wish me luck!
Reply:I want to have (for home) a spanish dish Pernil %26amp; Arroz con gandules with candied yams, and collard greens. If I go to dinner at family house (which I do for all the holidays) I will make a seafood rice casserole and a fruit %26amp; jello %26amp; cookie trifle.
Reply:We're tired of turkey, too! So, I'm making a leg of lamb with herbal gravy! With it, I'll be serving a potato casserole (a bag of hash browns cheddar cheese, butter, %26amp; sour cream), fresh green beans, tabbouleh salad, fried breaded eggplant, homemade pita (bread), and baklava!
Reply:I am tried of the traditional too, I am roasted a prime rib with baked potates and sweet potatoes.
Reply:Honey Baked Ham
CranberrySauce
Mash Potatos
Rosemary salad
